The month of May is Mental Health Awareness month. YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS. Do you need help?
First, determine how much your symptoms interfere with your daily life.
Do I have mild symptoms that have lasted for less than 2 weeks? Are you feeling down or have trouble sleeping? Is it impacting my ability to do my job, schoolwork, housework, or other daily activities?
If so, Here are some self-care activities that may help:
- Exercise
- Engage in social contact with friends and family
- Eat healthy
- Talk to a trusted friend or family member
- Practice meditation and mindfulness
- Get adequate sleep on a regular schedule
Do you have severe symptoms that have lasted longer than 2 weeks or more? Difficulty sleeping or getting out of bed? Difficulty concentrating? Appetite changes resulting in overeating or weight loss? Unable to perform daily responsibilities? Thought of self-harm?
If so, seek professional help. Don’t wait. Call AVV and make an appointment.
