Men’s Health Month aims to encourage boys and men to take charge of their overall health by implementing healthy living decisions. The Six Plays for Men’s Health are:
- Protect your heart – Healthier food choices build a healthier heart – make fruits and vegetables part of your daily diet
- Exercise – Get 30 minutes of exercise each day
- Preventive Maintenance – Get regular check-ups to catch small problems before they turn into big issues
- Don’t Smoke – Smoking contributes to cancer, heart disease, stroke and greater risk of erectile disfunction
- Mental Heath Check – Life can be tough, if you need help thinking things through contact a mental health professional
- Vaccinations – Talk to your physician about vaccinations that you may need to help boost immunity to diseases
