June is Men’s Health Month

Men’s Health Month aims to encourage boys and men to take charge of their overall health by implementing healthy living decisions.  The Six Plays for Men’s Health are:

  • Protect your heart – Healthier food choices build a healthier heart – make fruits and vegetables part of your daily diet
  • Exercise – Get 30 minutes of exercise each day
  • Preventive Maintenance – Get regular check-ups to catch small problems before they turn into big issues
  • Don’t Smoke – Smoking contributes to cancer, heart disease, stroke and greater risk of erectile disfunction
  • Mental Heath Check – Life can be tough, if you need help thinking things through contact a mental health professional
  • Vaccinations – Talk to your physician about vaccinations that you may need to help boost immunity to diseases
